Is it possible to combine two technologies in a single system? The Combi-Met high-vacuum coating system integrates sputtering and thermal evaporation within the same chamber.
Four configurations are available for this line, each differing in chamber size and loading method. The cycle times also vary: the Big Chamber and Horizontal models require between 6 and 20 minutes, while the Single Planet and Double Planet machines range from 4 to 9 minutes.
The coating processes employed are diverse: glow discharge, basecoat and topcoat PECVD (HMDSO), thermal evaporation, sputtering/reactive sputtering, AHC (Arzuffi Hard Coating), and SiO₂.
The key advantages of the Combi-Met line include the flexibility to switch from one coating technology to another within seconds and the ability to carry out multiple coating stages in the same cycle (multilayer coating).
